4/24 NAME CHANGE CALENDAR/5121

Change of Name

1.         PETITION OF MELISSA ALYAS

            24CV00620

Tentative Ruling: The hearing will be continued one last time to 06/05/24 at 3:00 pm in Dept. 19. Petitioner’s original petition on 02/09/22 requested a change from “Melissa Eloise Aylas” to “Melissa Elise Blaylock Aguilar.” Petitioner then filed an amended petition on 02/22/24 now requesting a name change from “Melissa Eloise Aylas” to “Melissa Elise Blaylock.” Petitioner then provided two proofs of publication. The first proof was filed on 03/12/24 and contained two errors, the hearing date was incorrect, and the proposed name matched the original, not the amended, petition. The second proof was filed on 03/25/24 and contained the same errors. Petitioner will be allowed one last opportunity to cure this publication issue. The publication must match the name change requested on the 02/22/24 amended petition and include this new hearing date. A proof of publication must then be timely filed.

The Court finds that Petitioner Michelle Love Marino, a/k/a Michael Love Armstrong, a/k/a Michelle Love Rutherford, has complied with all prerequisites outlined under California Code of Civil procedure (“C.C.P.”) §1277 for a Petition for Change of Name. The Court finds that no timely objection has been filed against said Petition.
